Rent Control is an important issue to many persons who are retirees and/or low income renters. By way of this website page, I promise not to vote to repeal rent control.
In fact, As a Van Nuys block captain for 10 years, I can tell you that not only am I for rent control, but I also want it enforced.
City hall's lack of rent control enforcement has proliferated third world living conditions: families living in garages, landlords allowing multiple families to unlawfully occupy small apartments, no window screens, cockroaches, vermin, and the list goes on.
As District 11 City Council member, I will call for stricter rent control enforcement.
